Award-winning journalist and author Nico Lang traveled across the US to hear from trans youth and their families in 2022 and 2023. During this period, Lang traveled the country—visiting states like South Dakota, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and California—to document the lives and daily experiences of eight transgender, nonbinary, and genderfluid teens for their book, American Teenager: How Trans Kids Are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era.

Annapolis Pride is proud to host Nico, in partnership with Park Books in Severna Park, for a discussion of American Teenager on July 31 at 6:30 PM.  A local transgender teen will join Nico, sharing their local experiences.

The book is available for purchase through Park Books.  It is also available to check out through the Anne Arundel County Public Libraries.  You can read more background here.

TICKETS ARE REQUIRED.  Seats at the event are free, but you can purchase a “Book Ticket,” which includes a signed copy of the book with your complimentary seat.
