DESCRIPTION:The City’s biggest parade of the year – the Annapolis St. Patrick’s Parade – will take place with step-off at 1 p.m. on Sunday\, March 6. \nUnlike in the last 14 years\, the parade will start Sunday\, March 8\, at 1 p.m. on West Street at Amos Garrett Boulevard\, then proceed around Church Circle before heading through Northwest\, Calvert\, and St. John’s streets. \nSt. Patrick’s parade is sponsored by Naptown Events\, which will sponsor shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to the staging area (near Maryland Hall) for parade participants and to the downtown area for parade watchers. For more information on the parade\, visit www.naptownevents.com. \nShamrock the Dock will NOT be held in 2026 due to construction at City Dock.

SUMMARY:Responsible Gun Ownership Community Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join the Anne Arundel County Department of Health and the Gun Violence Intervention Team in a community conversation about the vital role of secure gun storage in reducing gun violence across our region. In addition to presenting evidence supporting this key prevention strategy\, representatives will share ongoing prevention efforts throughout the county. \n  \nFree safe storage lock boxes and gun locks will be available onsite at the event. \n  \nRefreshments will be served. Register here. \nFree gun safety locks are available on an ongoing basis at all 16 public library branches in Anne Arundel County. The program\, led by the Department of Health’s Gun Violence Intervention Team (GVIT)\, is the first of its kind in the state. Through this partnership\, more than 9\,300 gun locks have already been distributed. \nCounty residents who are 18 years old and up can receive up to two gun safety locks per household\, per day. No proof of residency is required. In addition to receiving a gun lock\, gun owners will receive manufacturer instructions on how to use the gun lock.
