Mankiewicz\, All About Eve was originally coded as a Cold War era cautionary tale about lesbians undermining and destabilizing the heteronormative structure of society. The film follows aging Broadway star Margo Channing and her obsessed fan Eve Harrington who would do anything it takes to become Margo. Since its release this film has been reclaimed by the queer community as a wonderful examination of the effects of repressed desire.
